KASIANO LAD showed a toughness that represents his namesake to win the 1200m Lake Illawarra CG&E Maiden Plate at Kembla Grange.
Tommy Berry was quickly away from the inside gate and was able to dictate the race to suit himself. KASIANO LAD wanted to hang out from the 500m mark, which allowed the heavily supported favourite room on the fence to attack KASIANO LAD in the home straight. He looked to be headed at the 200m mark, but fought doggedly to score his first victory by half a length from CENTRE PIVOT with HANDYMAN BOB a further length away running third.
The 3yo son of DOMESDAY has always shown ability and the stable and connections were pleased to see him break his maiden at only his second race appearance.
