Handy galloper Saveeda showed his will to win at the feature mixed meeting at Kilcoy on Sunday 8th December. He was headed at the 100 metres but fought back strongly to win the Christmas Cup BM 68 over 1500.
The meeting was the first since the 1940's in Queensland to have Gallops and Harness racing on the same track on the same program. This unique race day attracted a capacity crowd so Dave was very pleased to win the feature race.
Saveeda has now won his last 2 starts, and 3 of his last 5 races have resulted in a win. "He is a warrior" Dave said after his win. He is a real genuine horse who loves stable life and try's his best when he goes to the races. His jockey Beau Appo completed a winning treble at the meeting and was also impressed by Saveeda's effort.
Dave's boutique stable has always managed an impressive strike rate and with sprinting mare Campionessa also winning at the Gold Coast recently the stable is continuing this trend.
Murph also mentioned that he is very happy with how the team overall are shaping up and that he has high hopes the stable will continue firing into the future.
